Adobe, Google, Yahoo get flashy

by Justin on July 1, 2008

It seems that Adobe has teamed with Google and Yahoo to allow for greater indexing and searching capabilities for Flash based web sites. This new endeavor will allow Yahoo and Google to “uncover information that is currently undiscoverable by search engines”. This is a good move by Adobe, as many development houses, especially those that are big into SEO, have shunned Flash because of the inability to index these sites, and have moved instead to other Frameworks like Ruby On Rails.

What is curious here is that Adobe has chosen to leave the No. 3 player in search out of all of this. Microsoft is not getting this ability for their search engine. Guess that is they price the pay for creating Silverlight and attacking one of the biggest software developers for their operating systems.
