Brief Review: Mac Book Air

by Justin on March 4, 2008

At MacWorld Expo this year Apple dropped the MacBook Air on the world. The Air was the long awaited sub notebook from Apple, but does it live up to the hype? The Air weighs in at a maximum weight of 3lbs and a mere thickness of .76″ at it’s thickest point. In that small package you get a full-sized keyboard, a 13.3″ screen, and a 80 GB hard drive. Essentially it is an anorexic MacBook, minus the optical drive (which is external and costs extra) and minus some of the external connectors that are commonplace with laptops.

So who is this pint-sized notebook for? The executive. While the Air is powerful enough to run many of today’s applications with ease it still is not as fast or as capable of it’s lesser priced MacBook siblings. It is a notebook for looks and extreme portability.
