Today GM announced the full production model of their much hyped Chevy Volt electric car. While I applaud GM for actually putting the wheels in motion for producing a true electric car, I am disappointed that they totally abandoned the look of the concept car. The concept car version had nice lines and an aggressive, muscle car look, whereas the production version looks like a big Malibu. While I understand that concept cars are just a concept, usually when you go from concept to production the look usually at shows a resemblance.
The look of this car is typical of GM, it has no revealing characteristics that make it stand out. This is also why GM, Ford, and some of Chrysler’s cars are failing so miserably against the good looks shown by many of the Imports.
All, I can say is the upcoming Tesla Sedans are going to kill this.
