According to an AP story, an adviser with the McCain Campaign took his BlackBerry out of his pocket in front of a group of reporters and waived it around while making the following statement, “You’re looking at the miracle that John McCain helped create.” It has widely been discussed that McCain does not know how to send email or use a computer. The claim was later dismissed by another aide as a “boneheaded joke”. Supposedly what the aide was referring to was McCain’s work on bills to reform the Telecom industries.
I guess Al Gore was not the only politician to make wild claims (Gore’s claim was later shown to be taken out of context) about technology that he does not understand and in no way invented or contributed to.
